Grande Vintage Mayan Tote, Izzy
A "huipil" is a traditional Mayan shirt: either hand woven on a back-strap or free-hand embroidered. Both techniques can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months to complete. Each tribe & region has their indigenous patterns that they wear daily; similar to a flag or family emblem. The rare art is taught to the younger generations of girls & women & by purchasing this bag you are directly contributing to the preservation of this heritage.
